Description
Calcium is one of the most important compounds in our aquariums, especially for enthusiasts maintaining corals with a calcareous skeleton (SPS and LPS). It is one of the compounds necessary for their proper growth and development. It is also essential for the life of invertebrate species, and to a lesser extent, it is used by the nitrifying bacteria in our aquarium in their metabolic processes.
To ensure that all processes involving this element develop correctly, it is necessary to maintain the Ca level in the aquarium around 420 ppm. Above this value, no improvements in coral calcification levels are observed.
It is not advisable to raise calcium above this value (450 ppm), as it will cause a decrease in alkalinity. Therefore, it is recommended to use this additive only to make corrections to the measured calcium in our aquarium and to use a balanced additive that provides this element in balance with the rest of the additives in our aquarium. For this purpose, you have within our range the balanced additive Xepta Reef Balance.
Contents: Calcium salts.
Doage: 5g of Xepta Ca+ increases the calcium content by 18 ppm in 100 liters of aquarium water. It can be added directly to the aquarium with the necessary amount of Ca+ to increase the calcium value in our aquarium in an area of strong flow, or the contents of the bottle can be diluted in osmotic water. To do this, prepare 5 liters of osmotic water and mix the entire contents of the bottle. The water should be completely clear and crystalline. This reaction is quite exothermic and releases heat, so it is normal for the container to heat up. When we have the 5-liter solution prepared, 10 ml of this solution will increase the Ca content by 7 ppm for every 100 liters of aquarium water.
