Description
XEPTA Reef Balance
Hard corals (SPS and LPS) consume a ratio of salts in their growth that must be replenished in the aquatic environment. Seawater contains all the elements known on Earth, some of which are not necessary for the proper development of the corals we currently maintain in our aquariums. Corals in seawater have access to these elements almost constantly through the water circulating among them, which does not occur in aquariums. Due to being closed systems, and with the presence of skimmers and filtration methods using resins, it is necessary to constantly add these elements.
Xepta Reef Balance is a system resulting from research on the effect of various trace elements present in seawater on corals, innovative and pioneering in marine aquarium husbandry. After these studies, we have developed an all-in-one product, eliminating the need for many bottles as required in other methods, which greatly complicates aquarium maintenance and makes it less understandable for novice hobbyists. It is a 100% balanced system mainly composed of three components that replenish the salts consumed by corals (Ca, kH, and Mg) and the trace elements necessary for proper growth, development, and coloration. The uniqueness of this system lies in its balanced nature, as it does not alter the ionic balance of the aquarium, replenishing in a balanced and proportionate manner not only Kh, Ca, and Mg (the parameters typically controlled), but also providing all necessary and indispensable trace elements for proper coral coloration and growth, thus maintaining the balance of dissolved salts in our reef aquariums. Therefore, it is not a system for raising Ca, Kh, and Mg parameters on demand but rather respects the proportions of these elements in the water of our aquariums as they occur in the marine natural environment.
It comes in three containers, already mixed and prepared for dissolution and use. Being a balanced system, it is necessary to maintain a relationship between the addition of the different components as follows: three parts of Kh part additive, one part of Ca part additive, and one part of Trace part additive. This is essential for the additives to function correctly. You can consult our guide where we have several examples.
XEPTA Reef Balance Kh Part Restores carbonate consumption by increasing or maintaining the ºdKh value constant in the aquarium. To prepare, pour the contents into a container with 2 liters of previously heated osmosis water to about 40-50 ºC, and while stirring, complete with previously heated osmosis water to the total volume of 3 liters.
Content: Carbonate salts.
35ml of this solution increases the degree of KH by 1º dKH in a volume of 100 liters of aquarium water.
XEPTA Reef Balance Ca Part Increases and maintains the correct level of Calcium in the reef aquarium. Dissolve with caution as it reacts exothermically, heating up upon contact with water. For dilution, it is not advisable to use plastic containers. Dissolve the content slowly and in several steps in a clean container while stirring until completely dissolved. Once cooled, transfer the contents to its final container and complete to the total volume of 1 liter.
Content: Calcium salts and other salts.
10ml of this solution increases the Ca level by 6 ppm in a volume of 100 liters of aquarium water.
XEPTA Reef Balance Trace Part Maintains the correct level of Magnesium and provides trace salts in the reef aquarium, balancing the proportions of dissolved salts. Do not use to raise the Mg value; for this purpose, you can use our magnesium additive. Dilute the content in a container with osmosis water, stirring the mixture and complete to the total volume of 1 liter. A brown/ochre coloration in the content and subsequently upon dissolution is completely normal.
Content: Magnesium salts and other salts.
